Finally Some Light

I packed up my camera and headed down the road to Pope Farms Park in Middleton. From the road it just simply looks like a trail, but once you park and start to explore you'll find a park full of open fields, rolling hills and lots of beautiful scenery worthy of capturing with a camera.

Shoot #1: Late Night Newness

The first night I got my camera, I was taking as many pictures as possible...the only problem was that I didn't have any daylight to take pictures outside. My inspiration came in the form of things I had laying around my apartment.

Purpose...direction

Since 1994 I've been fasinated by photography. Whether it's a simple portrait or a dynamic landscape, photography is real. It may be altered with processing techniques or computer programs, but what the camera captures is life, through the eyes of the photographer. Some pictures evoke feelings of sadness while others joy. Pictures can bring people together or tare people apart. It's 1 part vision coupled with 1 part interpretation that make photography something that moves people.

It's been a while since I've had the desire to make an interest into a hobby. There is only so much one can do with a point and shoot digital camera. A month or so before my 30th birthday I realized my liking for photography should be explored. Recently I've been inspired by some friends who are great photographers: Nic, Ty and Luke. I knew it was time for me to purchase a camera that would allow me to take the pictures I wanted to take. Believe me, I'm no Ansel Adams, but this camera gets me closer to feeling like and producing great pictures.

This blog is dedicated to what I see through the lens of my Nikon D60 SLR Camera.

Enjoy!
